WIFI is here!
Porterville College IT is pleased to announce the availability of Wireless Networking (Wi-Fi) services for employees, students, and visitors. To allow both personal and college owned equipment to use Wi-Fi services, there are two different Wi-Fi connection options--KCCDopen and KCCDsecure. In case you are wondering, the Wi-Fi connection names KCCDopen and KCCDsecure have been established as district wide standards so that the use of and instructions for accessing Wi-Fi services are consistent and easier to support across the district. KCCDopen is an open connection that can be used by anyone on any machine (personal or college owned) as long as they have a valid network logon account or have obtained a visitor Wi-Fi account. Your logon account is the one you normally use to logon to your college assigned computer in your office or a lab computer. KCCDsecure is an encrypted connection that provides access to more network resources but for security reasons comes with more restrictions on its use and requires more steps to setup.
