EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN REFRESHER
The EMT Refresher course is designed for students who possess a current EMT-B card and who need to complete 24 hours of continuing education and sit for the competency-based written and skills certification examination in accordance with the standards of the California State and Health Code, Title 22. Students should possess a current EMT-B card. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion with 24 Continuing Education Units.
The EMT Refresher module is designed for EMT-B students who need all or only a partial EMT refresher course. This review course will provide the most up-to-date information in accordance with the standards of the California State and Health Code, Title 22. Students will receive 8 continuing education units for each refresher course day attended, up to a maximum of 24 continuing education units. No continuing education units are provided for the testing day.

All classes are held on Fridays from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm

This includes 3 days of didactic skills (24 hours) and 1 day of skills
One-day Refresher Course (8 hours) – $50.00
Two-day Refresher Course (16 hours) – $80.00
Three-day Refresher Course (skills not included) – $110.00
Skills-day ONLY – $80.00
Textbook: Textbook is not required for this course but highly recommended. "Essentials of Emergency Care, A Refresher for the Practicing EMT- B", 3rd Edition

ZUMBA:
ZUMBA is a Latin dance-based fitness phenomenon that has been sweeping the nation. The class combines intervals of fast and slow rhythms with low impact, high energy dance moves. Each dance has a repetitive set of moves that are easy to follow, so everyone can do them. $40 per person, per section (includes parking permit).

Fireline Safety Awareness for Hired Vendors

The Fire Technology Department of Porterville College in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service and CAL FIRE is pleased to offer the course “Fireline Safety Awareness for Hired Vendors”.

This one-day training is required annually for operators of privately-owned equipment contracted to respond to active wildland fires with the State of California (CAL FIRE) and/or the United States Forest Service. Fee: $65 per person.

Registration and payment must be received in advance, NO EXCEPTIONS!

All students must register and pay in advance.  No walk-ins will be accepted. Class size is limited and registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.  We anticipate that classes will fill rapidly, so don’t delay…. Register now!
