For most classes, it is the end of the second week of the term. There may be some exceptions to this depending on the course and instructor.

When I tried to add a class it said "prerequisite-test score" hold what does this mean?

This means that you either have not completed the prerequisite for the class, or did not receive an appropriate score that is required for that class on the assessment test. Check with a counselor to determine what the reason for the hold is.

When I tried to add a class it said "Repeat Exceeds" what does that mean?

That means you have exceeded the number of times you can repeat the class. Therefore, you cannot enroll into the class again.

When is it too late to drop a class?

The last day to drop a class with a "W" grade is the 60% date. Check the academic calendar for that specific date. The last day to drop a class and still be able to receive a refund is the 10% date.

Will I get my money back if I drop a class?

Yes, if you drop by the 10% date. Check the academic calendar for the 10% date.

You must pay within 10 days of enrolling into the class or you risk being dropped from the course.

"W" grades are not factored into your grade point average.

Does a "W" grade look bad to a transfer institution?

No. The admissions decisions for most institutions are centered on your units completed, GE/prerequisites completed and your cumulative grade point average. So receiving "W" grades generally does not impact their decision to accept you or not.

My instructor said she would drop me from the class, but hasn't yet, what should I do?

Keep checking back with your instructor. If you are still unsuccessful in getting your instructor to drop you let a counselor or A/R staff person know in case they may be able to contact the instructor on your behalf.
