Advanced Placement (AP) exams

What are AP examinations?

AP examinations are normally taken while still in high school in various subject areas. Students who successfully complete an AP exam may be granted college credit for general education certification, graduation or placement in the college's sequence courses.

How can I count my AP scores toward completion of specific courses?

The student must arrange for the AP exam scores to be sent to the college. Then the student must submit a petition to the Admissions and Records office and their staff will review the scores and confirm the credit granted.

Do all universities accept AP scores?

Universities may evaluate your AP exams differently. Therefore, students are encouraged to consult with an advisor at the transfer institution to determine their policy regarding AP exam credit.

Does Porterville College offer AP tests?
