FAQs

Questions that Porterville College students often ask...   and the answers.

Class schedule

Where can I get a copy of the class schedule?

The class schedule is available on the college website at www.portervillecollege.edu.

What things should I pay attention to in the class schedule?

Everything. In addition to the listing of classes offered that term, the class schedule also includes important information such as the academic calendar that includes add/drop/refund dates, registration information, services available, etc. Pay attention to the whole class schedule, not just the section of the classes offered.

What does the "3" mean in front of the room number on my schedule?

The "3" stands for Porterville College. There are two other colleges in the Kern Community College District (Bakersfield and Cerro Coso) that use the same registration system and students sometimes register at more than one campus in the district. The number before the room designates which campus that room is located on.

There is a mistake on my schedule, where do I go to correct it?

The Admissions and Records office, located in the AC 11, or call 791-2220.

In the days and times of the class, what does the "TR" stand for?

In the registration system, there is only one space available to designate the day of the week. Since "T" stands for Tuesday, and "R" stands for Thursday, "TR" indicates a Tuesday/Thursday class.

In the days and times of the class, what does the "R" stand for?

"R" stands for Thursday.
