Work Experience

All Work Experience students must attend a MANDATORY orientation in Commons A of the LRC Building during the second week of class. Please choose from the following dates/times (no appointment necessary): Wednesday, January 29th, 5:30-6:30 pm; or Friday, January 31st, 10:00-11:00 am.

STUDENTS THAT DO NOT ATTEND ONE OF THESES ORIENTATIONS MAY BE DROPPED FROM THE CLASS. Please check your Porterville College email during the first week of the semester for additional information.

Please note, we do not offer job placement. You MUST have a paid or volunteer job to enroll in this class.

  • Three Learning Objectives– Due Thursday, February 6, 2014
  • Updated Resume – Due Thursday, Febraury 27, 2014
  • Job Application– Due Thursday, March 20, 2014
  • Seminar Hours (1st & 2nd semesters only) Due: Thursday, April 24, 2014
  • Timesheet - Timesheets 1 and 2 are due April 24. 2014;
  • Timesheet - Timesheets 3 and 4 are due May 8, 2014.
  • Final- Electronic submission saved as a Word Document of work is to be submitted double-spaced, with one-inch margins and 12-point Times or Times New Roman type.  Prepare one full page for each Learning Objective (total of 3 full pages required).  Due Thursday, May 8, 2014. 

What is Cooperative Work Experience Education?

Cooperative Work Experience IS transferable, depending upon approval of receiving institution. Because enrollment is an ongoing process, Orientation Sessions must be scheduled by student as early as possible. Please contact instructor for additional information.

  • For each 75 hours you work during the semester (16 weeks) at a PAID job you may take one credit of Work Experience.
